Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 2026

So You Cosmetics attaches great importance to protecting your privacy. This policy explains which personal data we collect, for what purpose and how it is protected, in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (nFADP).

1. Data controller

Boutique Soap Opera by So You Cosmetics, 3 av. Pictet-De-Rochemont, 1207 Geneva, Switzerland.

For any question about your data: contact@soyoucosmetics.com — 022 556 69 92.

2. Data we collect

We only collect the data necessary for our services:

  • Identity and contact details: name, email address, delivery address, phone number.
  • Order data: products ordered, amount and purchase history.
  • Workshop bookings: name, email and chosen date.
  • Newsletter: your email address, if you subscribe.
  • Messages: the content of the contact forms you send us.

Payment data (bank card) is processed directly by our provider SumUp and is never stored on our servers.

3. Purposes of processing

Your data is used to:

  • Process, prepare and deliver your orders and bookings.
  • Contact you regarding your order or request.
  • Send you our newsletter, when you have consented.
  • Comply with our legal and accounting obligations.

4. Legal bases

Depending on the case, processing is based on the performance of the contract (orders and workshops), on your consent (newsletter), on our legal obligations, and on our legitimate interest in managing the customer relationship.

5. Data recipients

Your data is never sold. It is only shared with providers strictly necessary to deliver the service:

  • Payment provider: SumUp.
  • Carriers (for example Swiss Post) for the delivery of your orders.
  • Hosting and email provider (Infomaniak, in Switzerland).
  • Google, only if you choose to display the boutique map — see the “Cookies and third-party services” section.

6. Hosting and transfers

Our data is hosted in Switzerland. Some providers (notably payment providers) may process data abroad; in such cases we ensure that adequate safeguards provide an appropriate level of protection.

7. Cookies and third-party services

The site sets no advertising or analytics cookies. It stores in your browser only what its operation requires: the contents of your cart, your chosen language and, where applicable, your login session.

The Google Maps map is not loaded automatically. It appears only if you click to display it: no data, including your IP address, is sent to Google before you do.

Our payment provider SumUp sets its own cookies at the time of payment. You can also configure your browser to refuse some or all cookies.

8. Retention period

We keep your data for as long as necessary for the purposes described and in compliance with legal deadlines, in particular the obligation to retain commercial records for 10 years. Addresses subscribed to the newsletter are kept until you unsubscribe.

9. Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures (secure HTTPS connection, restricted access to data) to protect your information against any unauthorised access, loss or use.

10. Your rights

In accordance with the nFADP, you have the right to access, rectify, erase and object to your personal data. You can exercise these rights at any time by writing to contact@soyoucosmetics.com.

You also have the right to contact the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).

11. Newsletter

Each newsletter contains an unsubscribe link. You can also request removal at any time by email at contact@soyoucosmetics.com.

12. Changes

This policy may be updated. The applicable version is the one published on this page.
